About Richard B. MacDonald
Richard MacDonald is a social and community activist, former Marine, and retired counseling psychologist whose life exemplifies resilience, purpose, and compassion. Transcending a turbulent, stressful childhood and reckless youth, Richard’s journey has been shaped by ongoing synchronistic experiences that have empowered his calling as a bridge-builder and truth warrior.
As a Christian humanist and interfaith ambassador, Richard dedicates his life to fostering harmony, healing, and understanding across diverse communities in an increasingly polarized world. His deep connection to the divine and abiding love for all life on Earth led him to serve in vital humanitarian missions as a U.S. Marine, enhance the lives of injured workers and combat-disabled veterans, advocate for truth and justice, and experience joyous transcendence when free-form dancing.
Despite suffering a traumatic brain injury for which he never fully recovered, Richard’s unwavering resilience and spiritual insight have stirred him to write, transforming trials into opportunities to better our world. He believes we are born to live purposeful lives, uplifting each other and our planet, and his life and work stand as a testament to that deep and humane conviction.
Richard lives with his wife on Maui, where he continues to serve as a beacon of positivity and wisdom. Their adult children and grandchildren live in and around San Jose, where Richard and his wife travel often.
